Buzzing temperature sensor

A common problem on the Saab 9000 is that you can hear a buzzing sound from one of the buttons on the dashboard. This small button is in fact an interior temperature sensor for the ACC system and it might often collect a lot of dust through the years.

Follow these steps to clean the sensor:

  1. Remove the ACC panel
  2. Remove the dust cover from the outside. You can see the two plastic tabs on the sensor that lets you pry it out.
  3. Remove any visible dust with swab or compressed air. If you use a screwdriver or other sharp objects there is a risk of damaging the sensor.
  4. Reassemble in reverse order.
